Top Ten Recipes of 2022 (2024)

The Top Ten Recipes of last year is my annual list, based on reader favorites and the blog statistics. These are the recipes that readers consistently go to, cook, share, and LOVE!

There are two newcomers to the list this year, so be sure you check them out. You might find a new favorite.

Here we go, your top ten favorites from 2022! Some of them are a surprise to me—and some that are missing are a surprise! Without further ado, here they are:

Top Ten Recipes of Last Year:

Easy Apple Crisp with No Oats – this recipe has been in the number one slot for three years running. Lots of people are looking for a great apple crisp recipe with a streusel that doesn’t call for oats and this recipe is perfect! Make it in one dish for easy clean-up.

Salmon Patties – moving up from #7! Traditional salmon patties are made with canned salmon, a little onion, bread or cracker crumbs, and an egg. Fry for a few minutes in a skillet and enjoy! No fancy stuff needed!

Baked Pork Chops with Cream of Mushroom Soup – long in the number one slot, this easy pork chop recipe got beat out by the apple crisp three years ago. But folks still love these pork chops! They’re delicious and did I mention EASY?

Country Fried Steak – our first new recipe on the list, this one has been popular all of last year! This is just a classic recipe for battered and fried cube steak. It’s easy, tender, and everyone loves it.

Granny’s Fried Apple Pies – moving down from #3! These are the real deal fried apple pies, not the factory kind or even the fancy ones you get at the apple farm. These are made the way Southern grandmas used to make them!

Southern Deviled Eggs – Simple and classic, these deviled eggs are made with just egg, mayo, a little mustard, and some pickle relish.

Classic Meatloaf – our next newcomer that beat out the Meatloaf Muffins. You’ll love this simple meatloaf recipe, classic with just ground beef, onion, and peppers, along with the standard bread crumbs, egg, and ketchup.

Fudge Pie with Cocoa – a perennial favorite, this Fudge Pie has been in my top 10 since it was posted more than ten years ago. You can make it in less than an hour with just pantry ingredients. Perfect for potluck!

Southern Squash Casserole – readers love this squash casserole for good reason. It’s easy and consistently delicious!

Navy Bean and Ham Soup – this soup stayed in the top 10 because it’s a beloved favorite of Southern Food and Fun readers. Canned beans make it easy–you can have this soup ready in about an hour!
